I use a Asus LCD Monitor - VH242S..
I use it for gaming, watching films, picture editing and film editing..Pretty good for around £120

My friend has two of these:

Not badly priced and they look brilliant on his desk.

You'll want to be looking for:

1. High contrast (blacks are actually black, whites are bright)
2. 1080p resolution. No need to go higher for casual computer use / movies
3. Screen size 23"-27".

It's best to go for a smaller monitor but higher quality in my view. Whats your budget?

Closest that I use is a dell 2311H (£200) as my secondary. Best monitor for the money if you care for IPS and colour accuracy.
