Looking for the best design for subs, need to cluster together well with no phasing, need good spl even projection for outside, good low response. 100htz and below.

Just thought somebody on here would know a good design I could replicate easily.
Need to cover 5000 people outside.
Using them for live band outside Rig.
Flying mid tops left and right.
So just need to make one big Mono cube in the middle.
If they can do cardioid even better.
Thankyou. :-)

If you want cardioid from DIY subs then the easiest route is going to be reflex boxes, and lots of them if you need to cover 5000 people with proper levels of SPL. I would probably go with double 18's with big ports, maybe even big flared ports if you can work that out.

For live band work, it's hard to beat the MT4, but not a DIY box. Otherwise, yes 2 x 18's the way to go. G-Sub, or something like the Meyer 650.

i would build the single b&c 18 reflex design , singles just for ease and flexibility , but could just make a double of it , we had 6 ( singles ) in an install for years with just eminence sigma 650s in and was always impressed with what we got out of them ,

5000 people and 2 flying arrays is a lot to take on for someone asking such simple questions. Want to give us any budget constraints and a bit more background information?

I'd recommend hiring a system in until you know exactly what's involved in providing this sort of system and any complications that may pop up.

Thanks for the help.
Simplest option for me, will be
The speaker plans G sub dual, 18s,
But before I commence on building, I have seen what looks like to be much the same thing made by box pro TP18/1600 these seem to be going for about £800 which seems too good to be true. Has anyone tried these out compared with the GSubs before I start cutting wood.
:-)
