Hey up
was wondering if anyone using this combination would be willing to share delay settings used on this setup I'm having trouble setting these properly by ear because the sound cuts every time I adjust the delay on the ultradrive which is a right pain in the arse, even better would be anyone using mt121s on top and has delay settings for these as well. Maybe a thread where people can list there setup and delay settings for DIY cabs would be a good reference for people in my situation?? Cheers John |

Depends whether you want to delay to the rear loaded radiation of the HOG (the 'scoop') or not - or alternately work with the front radiation which requires no delay.. We always used to work with around 2.7m for the HOG horn path, and around 0.7m for the HD horn path, start with that and have a play to see what works best.

he didnt mean that, he meant assuming a starting distance of 2.7 and delaying the hds only 2m and reflex tops the full 2.7m. But then again our tops werent quite reflex and our hogs have a 32mm thick baffle so there may be some subtle differences.

Try with 48/oct xover slopes to rule out xover phase overlap.

@ el chupacara - i think I got what he meant as this what we use in our currant setup but he also mentioned using the front radiating part of the scoop as a reference point which would surely mean HDs have the longest horn path which kinda makes sence as this part of the cab would surely be doing the upper frequencies of the range
as follows: our currant set up delayed on the scoop part of the cab hogs 0m hds 2m midtops 2.7 or delay based on the front radiating part of the hog hogs .7m hds 0m midtops .7 (if they were reflex) is this what you meant smyzzi? |
