double 10 sealed mid box for 18sound 10m600

hi guys im looking for a simple sealed mid range enclosure for a pair of 18sound 10m600 mid speakers have searched the net and found nothing for this particular driver for dedicated mid use

I'm going to ultimately build four cabs for mid 8 hd15 for kick four x1 on sub duty and either four cabs with four bullets in each or two comp horns with p.audio comp drivers on them not sure weather to go bullets or twin horn boxes yet on the top end

No not a hundred percent but I was basing it on the hd and x1 being a good combo could you suggest a better cab for mids to go with the x1 and hd?

Ok so maybe not use the 18sound and perhaps build the x10 cab instead and use the p-audio drivers that it suggests only use a more cost effective horn and comp driver would that make for a richer sound?

If the HD15's will sound ok played up to about 180Hz then you might just get away with using these sealed.

There's a trick you can do with choosing your crossover point to get as much as possible out of a box like this.

This relies on the fact that a Linkwitz-Riley alignment is effectively two Butterworth filters of half the total order put in series. (ie a 24dB LR filter can be built by putting two 12dB Butterworth filters one after the other.

A sealed box can be made to approximate a 12dB Butterworth alignment fairly easily, and this crossover type is readily available in virtually all DSP's.

Now, if you're careful, with a bit of extra EQ, you can drop the electronic filter a little lower than the f3 of the box and EQ back in the difference, so although the 10M600 won't get lower than about 220Hz (f3) in a sealed box, you can still get pretty darn close to a 180Hz LR 24 crossover.

For these drivers, that'd mean a sealed box of about 6.5l for the pair, with a Butt12 HPF at 145Hz and an EQ boost of 1.2dB at 180Hz, Q=0.8.

That would let you drive them right up to the manufacturer's "program" power rating while using only 75% of the available excursion.

6.5l for the pair does sound on the limits of practicality however.

As Marjan says, and I pointed out in your other thread, using a vented box sized appropriately would give you a lot more flexibility in choosing crossover points.

	Win isd online says 3L per driver, datasheet says 5L per driver. It isn't that hard to design closed box, is it? What are you going to use with these?

	The combo is ok but i think you should port the cab to go down a bit lower.

	What about these C-Audiofreak : http://www.speakerstore.nl/projects/show/126 I heard this in Manila, Philippines some DJ was using back in 2009 P-Audio horn and woofer it was loud and clear passive xovers though! Was thinking of building these with my 2 Faital 10PR300 woofers with a middle 2370 horn and B&C DE250 passive xover from Eminence with the vents on the side like a conjoined twin heads?
