Just for the record, I have taken delivery of 8 x PD186s over the last few months, 3 of which were off centre, one was subsequently open circuit. I have not used PD before except for horn loaded 12 inch mids which seem to be OK [really so they should they have an easy life x over at 300Hz and not really pushing a lot of power thru them]. What is the long term reliability going to be like on this model ... I am using them in bass reflex cabs [one driver in each 10 cu feet ported cab] with 700W worth of power to each guaranteed unclipped.... I cant afford to have units go down. Am I worrying unduly..... are there better units available for the price [with a realistic delivery]? |

sadly, i think it's the factory and not the vendor. if fast turn around on orders/recone kits etc is a priority then don't buy pd, stick to someone like b&c, apparently you can get most of their kit next day from a strong uk distribution network.

Do you reckon the Void V1000 will be Ok in a bass reflex??? ... Although I need the reliability more than anything ... I cant spend the night worrying if the gear is going to throw its hand in!!!

your best bet is to contact PD direct, speak to Neil and give him the serial numbers of the units, they can give you a better awnser. it may be the case that due to the high volume PD's quality is slipping, but its better to ask them before jumping to any conclusions !

Nope. If you want reliable reflex driver get a B&C. |
