I'm in the process of getting a couple of cabs made (using B&C design) with B&C 21'' drivers, the drivers are rated at 1500W/4ohm. Looking into the amps that could drive them i'm considering the above 2, i know the EV is 3 times more heavier than the QSC but in terms of performance i want some opinion. Also both amps are rated at 1250/1300W at 4 ohm but i've been told the EVs are underrated but are these good enough amps for these cabs?

The P3000 is definitely the better choice for heavy duty bass usage.  The PLX's aren't bad amps but my money would be on the EV to deliver the goods.

Yes EV P3000 amps will take some beating on any sub cabinets but we have also found that the JBL MPX1200 will give it a very close run for the money---something else that we have found when comparing the two amps is that the MPX1200 seems to drive 2x PD1850 in bridgemode better than the P3000 and it is quite a noticeable difference in performance.

Have been using DYNACORD L2400 (the same with P3000)and always been satisfied with the performance driving bass.

Apples and oranges? Its not a question of whether one is better then the other its a question of do you want a light amp rack or not?

That is very suprising.

Think Inf7Mk1 would also be dirty on 1x driver, 4 ohm stereo, but are rarer than sterling leaving Insomnia's wallet.

Guess all the quality heavies in this power range should be looked at...

CA12, 3600VZ, 4050HD, 8001 ?
