I've just got a load of Optikinetics 'super slave strobes' from a venue strip out, but can't find much info on them.
Anyone know anything about these?

Thanks.

great little strobes, mode electronics so very reliable. not bright by modern standards. just link them up to a strobe controller ( will work of most analogue pulse controllers) with a stereo jack lead and off you go
i think ive got 5 or 6 of these at the back of one of my lockups somewere, allong with some white lightnings

Didn't realise they were Mode as well.

Slightly OT but I'm gonnahave my Arcline out this weekend :)  Did you ever find a controller CSG?

If not I know Stage Electrics had some AL100's last year, and I doubt they move that quickly these days.  Can give you a contact if you want to try?

talking strobes.. I have inherited some parcan strobes.. but so far my desires have been thwarted by the need for an 18v pulse... The two strobe controllers I have only spit out 10v.

do 18v controllers exist..?

Thanks csg.
Yeah got 6 of them now, the strobe controller with them is mode electronics + a mode electronics parcan 4 channel dimmer/controller.
Will give it all a service and see how they go.

I wonder if a relay would respond to the pulse quickly enough. it would be easy to use the 10v pulse to momentarily switch the output of an 18v psu if it does. if the relay wont respond then a transistor based switch shouldnt be hard to design

edit (blimey its back): actually, why not just pop a volage doubler on the output, something along these lines
