I have ordered the base plates from GDS as they look the stronest in terms of base plates. They would need tri truss and the top plates.

not sure if this will work for you...
 
we have 1.5mtr high x 500mm x 500mm wood boxes which have frosted perspex in the front which can house a 1mtr led batten... these work really well and cost around £40 in materials to build.
they are covered in white leatherette so really look the part. 
there is a shelf in the bottom to put 2 stage weights to give ballast to avoid wobble...
