Hello hive does anyone know if it is possible to link two Midas m32 so one can be FOH and the other a monitor desk rather than using an analog splitter
Please advise

Yes, you need to set it up on AES50 patch screen with the FOH desk using the monitor board essentially as a stage box. The monitor desk will then loose its pre amp and it will just become a “Trim” You will have to do some funky patching on the outputs but this does work as we used to run a M32R with a X32 rack back in the day. Only do this if the monitor engineer fully trusts the FOH engineer.

I generally prefer to do it the other way round and give the monitor desk control of the gains. The FOH engineer can compensate for input gain but unexpected changes on monitors could mean a very bad day. I think it also makes for easier cabling, especially if you're using an external DL32 etc to go Stagebox -> Monitor M32 -> FoH M32.
