The X are an all round bass bin - the psychos are pure long horn sub.

Different bins, different applications.

Overall output per number of cabs, the X is phenominal - but for pure, effortless sub, Psycho every time.

As long as you have a venue big enough to hold them.

probs because its become the whats percieved as the perfect dance music system because of the high profile work its done, thus all the over payed fools have bought a load cos its 'cool' and cant run it properly. seems the case with many many setups ive heard of it.

I normaly dislike the bandpass horn sound but I must say that I have been massively impressed by the 221 bin. It sounds much more polished than any other BPH I've heard; I had made exactly the same judgement as you before I heard them.

Where can I / did you hear the danley 115? I've wanted to hear some of his stuff for a while but I didn't know there was any in the UK. I'm in London but I don't mind travelling a bit.
me so horny, me love you long throw.

I'm not aware of any large Danley rigs in use in the UK...yet.  I would love to take up a friend's offer and visit him in Atlanta just so I could visit Danley's HQ but I don't think the wife would go for it. And I can't really push for Danley gear in the AV system I'm speccing for a local school (if only - I'm sure the new 2 x 21inch sub would sound just great in morning assembly!
Ah, well - back to the drawing board and the world of dreams.
For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.

i absolutely love my dt100s but would gladly trade them in for a pair of f221s.

after hearing what they are capable of at bloc... ShockedClap

never ever have i heard a stack sounding as good- 3x f221 + 3x res4 a side, wow! Big smile

Hi everyone, I'm replying to this topic and taking the opportunity to ask a question.

I have to set up the stage of an event with an F1 sound system consisting of:

3x RES50 on each side, so 6 in total

4x F121 and 2x F221

A band is to perform on stage and only after the band has finished will a DJ set begin.

My idea was to use a single central bass stack set up as follows:

1x f121 front

1x f121 rear in cardioid mode

1x f221 front

1x f221 front

1x f121 rear in cardioid mode

1x f121 front

For greater accuracy, I've attached a PDF image of the front view of the stack

Given that I can't increase the number of subs and I have 2x 221s and 4xf121s available, I had thought of this configuration.

In addition, by controlling the f221s with 2 channels each and having the right amount of channels necessary to make an electronic arc on the subs facing the front to maximise the coverage of the array, which would otherwise become very narrow.

I accept your advice. Unfortunately the stage is 80 cm high, which means I can't tighten the stack by placing the subs above a first line.

With a little effort I could replace the F221s with another 4 F121s.

I await your news and thank in advance all those who will reply

immage of the config:
