If so, I have seen discussion of such approaches elsewhere, check out this... scroll down to "Internal measurements on the Thorn F1" https://fredrikforsman.wordpress.com/ There's been other discussion on DIYAudio as well, with the main aim to knock down the peak at the high end of the passband If nothing else, Fredrik's work are great examples of DIY testing done well |

Could a resonator also be in the first segment of a tapped horn? I have found some favorable simulations by increasing the area of S1 so that it is actually much larger than the s2 point where the driver front/baffle point is in HR. I assumed it was just acting like a bass reflex chamber with a flared vent and the driver loaded in the vent. Tapped Reflex or some such thing.

The question was posed if what i put forward as an principle idea is similar to a 8th order bandpass with flared ports.
My responce to this would be, no, it's not, and the reson for me saying so has to do with the difference in time domain based summations of the deisgns, the 8'th order bandpass does not incorporate such mechanics, I can how ever see other similarities such as the use of a single driver, twice bandpass filtered (forked), and then summated in the final step, viewed as a system.

The use of a QW resonator/reflector should not be ruled out, as I previously mentioned it is an intresting take, but the main principle idea I wanted to share with you does not make use of such a device, that's no to say it could not be incorporated in some way, if we see the need to do so later on, presuming that the idea I put forward ever makes it into the probable domain, it is still not suggested that there is validity to what I sugest, I simply want us to think about it and share our thoughts on the subject.
