Best way would be to compare manufacturer datasheets if they could be honest with measurements I guess.
But now is only left to make one and try as you said, thanks.

Cannot stress enough, the importance of this statement. "Many" lightweight amplifier brands, use the "1 khz burst mode" ploy in specs, to blatantly deceive, regarding an amplifier's sub output capability, so punters really do think they are getting fairy tale kilowatts of sub, for little or no current draw. This will not be the case with Admark AD60/AD42. Given required current, from non sagging mains, they will perform.

“Don't forget ipal mod is made for professional subwoofers for touring. it has not as much continuous output power as a 5000w car hifi amplifier, but fits the ipal drivers and is very efficient and you can use several of them on a C16 circuit breaker with low average current draw.”
This is here from forum. If we are already at 95% efficient amps, how this one can pull so little power for such output. Few per 16A vs one channel AD60 30A+ both driving 21” 2500/3000w Just want to understand better and have things clear for myself.

There is no comparison as you are confusing Burst Ratings (ipal mod specifications) vs Continuous Average (AD 60 on the Bench). No matter what marketing says, you cannot break the Ohm's Law. Best Regards, |

As I understand both are able to drive dual 2500/3000w drivers with similar SPL output, per channel.
Ipalmod at 1ohm and AD60 at 4ohm. That burst power is obviously good enough for real music reproduction conditions and both should have similar average power consumption at same SPL with those normal conditions and being fed with same signal? You want to say AD60 per channel is much more powerful than ipal?

Actually no. Most amplifier datasheets are misleading/deceptive. Best way is to hear amplifier your self, or inquire on social media, for feedback. As mentioned previously, if this is for your own powered sub project, would suggest your forget about acquiring internal amplifier boards, from Admark. I understand Sanway do provide this service, and a friend built his own powered subs, with their ready built modules. However, just read you intend to possibly power 2x 21" drivers. As mentioned previously, you are embarking on the wrong path. AD60 will power 1x 21" 8 ohm driver per channel, "if" your mains supply can provide required current, without mains voltage drop.

No problem with powering speakers, thats all good now.
Just trying to learn something new since this is confusing me. Am curious where that high power consumption comes from in real life since both amps should average at similar power because of driving similar speakers at similar output and efficiency.

No such thing as, "should average". Depending on music material type, brand quality, amplifier build/component quality, different amplifiers will perform differently. Sometimes it's better to read through the decades of posts here in Amplifier Forum, than repeating questions, possibly answered 20x years ago.

Yes. The ipal offers 180 volt rails (Powersoft states it on their specifications). That is equivalent to 2000 - 2500 watts per channel @ 4 ohms continuous average power. The AD60 offers around 320 volt rails. That is equivalent to 6440 watts per channel @ 4 ohms continuous average power on the Bench. The advertised wattage listing on the AD 60 at 4 ohms per channel (11,000 watts), can be looked upon as Burst Ratings. Again, no comparison among-st the two. The Admark AD 60 is more powerful than the Powersoft Ipal. Best Regards, Edited by Elliot Thompson - 14 December 2025 at 1:25pm |

But the B&C 21 IPAL is a 1 ohm driver not 4 ohm?

It appears his focus is on 8 - 4 ohm woofers. Not sure why he would be looking at the Powersoft ipal to begin with.

Let me chime in for a bit here.
We are using AD442 to drive 4 3600W AES double 18s per channel regularly. We also do trance festivals with them driving those subs where music does not stop for 176 hours. Absolutely no problem. However, we did had two amps blow a channel while running tops at probably 1/3 of their rated power. Still scratching my head why that happened. No damaged drivers in the boxes.
