Hi All,
I'm playing around with an idea to build a pair of speakers from wooden Ikea salad bowls... they have been used a fair few times for this purpose (Google "ikea salad bowl speakers" for examples)... mainly for full range hifi drivers. I'm wanting to step this up a little, and using the larger 28cm bowls to make the enclosure, the material is 10-12mm or so thick.. and I think that works out to about 8-9l... a bit less when the inside has been treated with fibreglass etc. I'm thinking of using the B&C coaxial 6.5" driver (6hcx51)... I want a high efficiency driver, that will run down to ~100hz (I'll port the enclosure as required)... ideally +93db 1w/1m or more. I'm open to using other coaxials if anyone has any suggestions? Of course these will be used in conjunction with a sub or kick/sub combo for bass response. Any comments or suggestions? Edited by adamb00m - 08 February 2024 at 1:30pm |
