This is a very long shot but I used to know a guy in London who went by the name of Big Will, he used to do Discos and used loads of Martin Cabs Philishaves etc, would you knwo the where about of the man have you heard of him or met him? I know he did loads of the heavy metal gigs etc, Its been over 25 years since our paths crossed and I would love to get back in touch with him again. so any details would be grand :)

Last I heard, Will had gone back to his old home town of Leicester, and was doing lots of installations. Try here: http://www.willpowerpa.com/ Back in the late 70's / early 80's, a lot of the rigs that had been owned by 1970's touring bands were coming up for sale. Will used to buy them up, keeping some parts for his massive Rock Disco system and selling the rest on. He was based in Blundell Street along with a few other companies in the industry and was a real mine of information on the audio systems and equipment of the time. If you get in touch with him, see if you can persuade him to contribute to Golden Oldies! P.S. he is NOT to be confused with a guy of a similar name (Wilf / Wilfried, but NOT Will) who was / is a well known scammer and ripoff merchant generally known as "Rocky". Big Will is a good guy. Haven't seen him for years. Edited by madboffin - 02 August 2010 at 10:18am |

His name is Will Norton. He did a few parties for the company I worked for (Thames Water) and some friends in Finchley at the end of the seventies/early eighties - really nice bloke. I last saw his hire rig, not him, at Wembley Conference Centre in about 1985. If you speak to him, tell him Trevor sends his regards.

For sidefills, can we have two enormous things of a type that might be venerated as Gods by the inhabitants of Easter Island, capable of reaching volumes that would make Beelzebub soil his pants.
