not sure about the x1 and that, but the nicest cab i've heard (out of only a limited selection it's true) for bass guitar was the martin 215 mkIII (plans on second page of tda audio's thread on wsx build pics in new projects forum). they were loaded with quite old and very sensitive rcf drivers and the bass was increadibly percussive and thumpy in the way a band pass cab never will be. it's quite a good single cab performer i found at my friend's wedding, plus is a great height for putting a mid-top on when up-ended. roger waters used to have a martin modular pa stack as his backline!

what's the lowest frequency your bass plays?

i built a dual 15" high excursion and horn reflex cab.... that gets to 28hz (big thing) and makes plenty of noise. I go for a gorrilaz electric distorted type sound, with 2 subharmonic processors!

my proposition won't give you power that low down... pity really. reflex may be the way to go, i'll be interested to see ginger's cab... i'd still say avoid the bp6, too "sloppy" for bass guitar, which is (depending on playing style of course) all about speed and transients.
