As above, I don't think so, more like your AB example I think. What is a wee bit concerning is the warning re amlifier damage, it seems they do not have a lot of faith in their short circuit protection

Of course, sorry I had a brain fart and forgot you said in series.
Still trying to figure out the losses thing out loud but I think you got it down; Bridging into series you'll have twice the voltage going out, same current, but into one cable of area X (2.5mm^2?). However if you have them 1 cable per sub, you have the same current running down 2x cables therefore incuring the losses twice. For me it would just boil down to reliability therefore I would run 2x cables incase there was something wrong with one sub/connector/cable.

Ideally, regardless of output topology, all the back EMF from the reactive load is effectively used to brake the movement of the driver. The output impedance of the amplifier compared to the load impedances of the speaker lead and speakers is so small that there should be minimal heat dissipated across the amplifier output stage from back EMF. Once amplifiers start doing things like diverting that energy back to recharge the power rails, it starts to make a distinct and audible difference to the transient response of the speakers*. If I recall correctly this was a part trick that Powersoft implemented for the K20. *Provided it wasn't poor already... A turd garnish is difficult to notice when you've already closed your eyes to force down a shit sandwich. |
