Would a PD154 work in a X15? if so what comp should i be looking to use?

One that will work down to about 250hz!!!

Wrong driver for an X15. You need one with probably a 2 1/2" - 3" voice coil, and a light cone. See the original SN15MB spec's for some idea.

Well thats pi55ed on my fireworks, its just that i already have the drivers and am looking at making some DJ monitors, maybe if i were to make 3way cabs, i have a pair of jbl2402 bullets that could do the top end and maybe a good 8" closed back mid would work? 

Or should i just make some kick bins out of them?

As Tony explained, you need "loose" light cone driver with light voice coil. PD 154 is a horn/scoop driver need small throat / big compression ratio.
Support the scoop technology, larger mouth plays louder!

i recently dropped in eminence kappa pro 15s into cabs where sn15mbs used to be.. i'm sure they don't sound as nice up high. i know a 15 is not ideal to push up to 1.6kish, but still, the sn15mb did it better.

i've re-read rog's t/s params faq entry.. is it just cone mass, or is there others to look out for to indicate that a big cone may play nicer higher than others?

i'm kinda tempted by the kappalites.. don't know if they would sound much different to the kappa pros though.

any suggestions? i did read nice things about the beyma 15p80nd..

Deltalite 2515 maybe, Bit of a peak at 2K but nothing serious. Looks like it would make a good replacement for the original P.Audio.

I have a couple of PD 153ER drivers here that will run flat to over 2khz if they are any good to you.

I'm not sure the PD154 would be quite as bad as people are suggesting.  PD do spec it as being suitable for monitor wedges.  If you can partner it with a large compression driver and horn and get the crossover point down as close to 1kHz as possible I'm sure it can be made to work.  Maybe not the most hi-fi combination in the world but I'm sure it would be loud!

I made my comments because I have actually tried a 154 as a bass mid driver and it was not to my liking at all.
Obviously this does not mean that they would not be to another persons taste.
Personally 250hz is the highest I would take them.

A local DJ has them, (I sold him mine), he runs them up to 375hz and to my ears they sound very muddy.
