Let's just wait for Robbo! If John don't know, (or hasn't got a couple lying around in a lock-up somewhere), then they must be figments of someone's imagination!

i have a james amp just like that, in fact i'm sat right next to it. passively cooled amps are in great demand in this household for driving what i shall tentatively call background music systems.

mine has fins on the back though, that looks like it never has, although the front is pretty similar. mine is all on jacks too, and doesn't have any indicators on at all. an earlier model i expect.

We used to see the odd secondhand James amp in the seventies and eighties when I had the music shops---they always looked a bit similar to Roost power amps so they could have been badged up Roosts.
We used to sell loads of the ACES amps graphics and crossovers under our own name of "Soundpower" and I still see the odd one knocking about---Cheers--John.
