Would this have a negative effect on the performance of the Super Scoops?

This wouldn't increase chamber, would just increase external dimensions, and remove 18mm of driver depth/driver displacement from chamber.

Increasing chamber volume would increase lower response at cost of sensitivity and cone excursion. Substantial increases typically suit larger Vas/Xmax drivers.

Tony, don't you double baffle  already?

But wouldn't the loss of driver depth increase the volume of free space in the chamber? Therefore lowering the response like you said. Maybe I'm getting it all wrong though?

Yes. Increases free space as less is displaced by driver.

No. The actual chamber size is unchanged. Some modelling proggies allow for driver displacement in chamber if you supply it, (WinISD I think), and some don't.

Unfortunately I don't have access to modelling programs as I'm on a Mac, and searches for suitable programs have been fruitless.

If you are on one of the intel based macs you should definitely be able install some sort of windows emulator, and download/run Hornresp for PC's. The author posts on this site regularily.

They're 200mm from the back Insomnia.

These Superscoops you built for Abrupt, are they built to the exact same spec as the one you done for me ?

If so, I tried one of the TurboMax's in my one & surprisingly it fit without hitting the rear board in the chamber, but it's quite close.

Can you remember the thickness of the padding in my one ? Well the driver didn't fit with the padding in place.

yes boss

his are exactly to spec - the foam fitted in his and ur scoop is 1'' thick
