If you had proper compression driver in large enough horn to go on top of 12" drivers, then you would not have any problems in keeping the system four way.

You could buy a pair of Limmer 042's and right drivers for them, put them in crude box and use them with your existing 12" drivers and boxes for the time being and then when the time was right, build Mt121 12" horn with proper drivers.

thx Pfly. I guess in this case i would directly build the Mt121.

All i need is a really strong compression driver, like the bms 4590, and these are pretty high price. but at the end i guess it would be the cheaper way compared to adding a 5th way, with amps, cables and all consequences...

hmm...i guess i would have to calculate this first....

Don't forget to check this out then:

http://forum.speakerplans.com/mt121-revisited-revised_topic49892.html

Just extend the height so it can house the horn and driver of your choice

If you choose to go with 2" driver, this would be nice horn candidate

thx 4 the link! very helpfull!

i guess i there's no other way than build it with a 2". All 1" i've seen don't play down to 500-700 hz, the point i have to cross over because of the mid-horn.

i think it's also not the badest idea to take a great driver for this giant range from 700-20'000 hz Wink

The Void Staysys Top is pretty similar, and they sound great as i think.

MT121 with quality 12"+2" is industrial strength.
