Keep in mind that mine is 8Ohm version, so it is not really incredible, just very good. I'd not want to be the one who leads you to high expectations and low outcome again, with B&C speakers. Good thing is that these speakers have quite low Re, about 5.3 Ohms, so even at 8 ohms of nominal impedance, it is very good anyway. Hope you'll be as lucky as me next time.
Nikon and Canon people should not be married to each other. Why did you let this happen?

No problem at all.
BTW it's not to use it but only to measure it. Competitive analysis purpose...

of course, you are right, if it's for 4ohm it's incredible !
A good way to improve BL is to use split winding voice coil. I did a recent 18" for a customer this way and I saw BL improved by nearly 20% compared to standard single wire (with other motor refinements too)

Anyway, now I want to get one of this 18SW115 Shocked

Then you will love the 18NLW9601 even more :-)

well I don't know, I never been impressed by 18sound subs. Even when 18LW1400 was considered top dog (and used in EAW KF bass bins), I did not like it (too "mushy" type of sound for my taste)
But most important, for 99% of my clients who want compact reflex subs, this 9601 has too low qts and low efficiency. and 4.7 ohm Re for 8ohm nominal ? seriously ?
18SW115 looks a better choice for compact reflex sub...
That being said, I never tried any of them, so I may be totally wrong (numbers are one thing, listening is something else)

edit: I like Qts between 0.38 and 0.40 for compact reflex sub.

edit2: I must also confess that I have bad experience with 18sound people. 10 years ago, I tried to buy some stuff from them. I sent many mails, called in Italy many times, finally talked to the sales director, he promised to come back to me and it never happened... I was really pissed off. 5 years later, when I was much bigger (so I suppose more interesting for them), they tried to sell me their stuff. As you can imagine, I told them my past story and that it was too late, I did not wanted to make business with them anymore... Maybe I had the wrong attitude but I felt so good that day...

That sound extremely similar to my experience with BC people. Now they are haunting me any time they can.
And you are absolutely right, numbers dont tell all the story. I use slightly modified 18NLW9601 in not so compact box. About 225lit internal volume.
They are extremely close in performance with the 18SW115 but 5.3 inch VC has the edge in both power handling and power compression. After all night banging with 2KW average per driver the magnet is barely warm.

Yes, this is what I see when I look around for speakers. B&C doesn't provide as huge voice coils as competition does in their speakers. I bought my 18SW115 to put it into very compact bassreflex sub, so it is still very mobile, and it seems it works well. 135 litres of net volume and the speaker still likes it...
