+1 Make sure you get a BIG amp for them. We ran ours for about a year off a camco v6, we were happy with them then but after hanging them off a 5000vz....

Hello,
I really agree with VPAS, having the right amp makes a big difference! Also 'watts' do not say everything. In practice some amps are just more bass heavey. I have also good experience with QSC PL6.0/9.0, MC2 E45 and also FFA do very well on Punishers.
Best regards,
Walt

Compact yes, but the X-tro, is that not a heavy sod, so you gain on the subs weight but die lifting the X-tro?

Xtro's not that bad to lift at all. I can lift one on top of a pair of stacked bins ( about five foot from the floor ) without too much difficulty. With two people it becomes real easy.

That's right they don't need any kick, i've heard & used 2 a side upto 8 a side and there fine crossing over at 125hz. Also why are you going for a 3 or 4 way system ? more amps, more cable, need better crossovers, more space, more money A simple twin 18" and passive midtop something like a 15" & 1.5" is great

Highly sceptical, to say the least, about that mate. I found even taking them upto 110hz resulted in a muddying of the sound. I have never heard of, nor seen, anyone running them as an all in one bass solution - x-tros, HDs, always some form of ''kick'' cab on top. What sort of cab were you running above them, if you don't mind me asking. |

A bi-amped midtop again loaded with a 15" & 1.5"
LR48 30hz - 110hz LR24
LR24 110hz - 1.2kHz LR24
LR24 1.2kHz out LR24

Ok I think maybe I've been abit too ambitious ... after further documentation I've realised that 6/8 punishers is going to cost quite alot to power, and funds are limited so I'm now more thinking of starting with 4x 1850 horns loaded with void v18 1000 + 2x MT121 or MT122.
Would MT121 be good or should I go for MT122 (more complicated and more expensive )What do you think of this overall system ? To me it seems easier to build, less money and I beleive will deliver alot of quality sound anyhow. Bear in mind : outdoors/jungle/dubstep/tekno ... |

it only took me a few years to deside what i wanted to build but hey got there in the end. im sure it will cover all your music type pretty dam well. |
