Amp question Bachy s550 and power amp rec.

   Hi. Im a bass player making rock metal and we have one of these in the pub powering single 18 inch subs. Anyone familiar with these? Are they clone of something or an original design? They dont have much power 300watts@8ohm and 450@4ohm per channel. But they seem to sound like bomb deep with good bass. Im thinking to purchase a power amp for band use and thought about Crown xls 1502 as they seem to have same wattage as these and bridgeable but Ive used 300watt@8 ohm class D amplifier for my 15inch bass guitar cabinet before  and was not happy with the sound or power.  It sounded like lifeless didnt sustain and in the end It fried but think It was because of a voltage problem in lines and they couldnt fix the amp.  There are  some other heavyweights brand of  amps than the usual suspects in my country like audiocenter tonylee omcron etc are they going to be more suitable and reliable for sub bass duties bridged and also for my bass rig at medium lowattage category? Thanks a lot.
