Hello. First post here. I have a favor to ask for the pros.
I need to design (if needed) a 2 x 18 reflex enclosure, or hopefully just modify the G-SUB for the B&C 18TBX100 where the height = 51" and the width = 24". The depth can be whatever it needs to be to maximize performance with these drivers which I already own. Can anyone help? I can work off the G-sub plans, just need to know the adjustments. Thank you in advance. Ryan |

You're not asking for a simple tweak to the GSub plan, you're asking for a whole new design.
I suggest you download a copy of WinISD and do some simulations. |

Hi Ceharden. I can certainly appreciate where you are coming from, but I wouldn't know the first thing about enclosure design. My partner and I can build enclosures, no problem, but we definitely need help with the design.
Some background. We currently have 8 18TBX100 drivers that we bought them from US Speaker a few years ago, and these drivers are loaded into 4 Yamaha SW218v enclosures. We were told the B&C drivers were a good match for the Yamaha's enclosure volume and port tuning when we bought them (the sales rep matched using Eminence Designer software that had the SW218 dimensions built in). True, they do sound better than the Yamaha stock Eminence drivers, but their overall performance is rather unremarkable when compared to some of the recent pro-grade 2x18s we've auditioned (L-Acoustics SB218, JBL CSR82L). The Yammys are poorly braced. We put additional braces inside to try to stiffen them up, which helped a little, but it seems the build quality simply isn't there when compared to commercial grade concert subs. We've managed to go 3 years with this current configuration, but as our band is getting better paying gigs, our goal now is to build very nice enclosures that will truly match the really nice B&C drivers. If Speakerplans is not a good resource, can anyone suggest a place online where I could submit our requirements to someone who could handle the design work? Thanks, any help is greatly appreciated. A good starting point might be here:
