Hello, I'm currently building two double 18"s (3000w RMS 4ohm each) for reggae dub and I was wondering which is the best sub option for the amps.
-The FFA 1000 seems to have the best sound quality (tested ad used) but the power rating aren't the best option, even if the numbers are RMS o near it. And if plan to build two more subs I gonna need do buy another one to run them.
-powersodr k20 have enough power to run the two subs (2ohm) and two mid-sub (1200w RMS 8ohn each) with a good amount of headroom but the quality is not the same (audio quality). And if I follow the plans to build the other two subs a can keep using the k20 for them.

If someone can help me would be great :)

Both fantastic amps!
Both fantastic companies with great after care service.

The Powersoft K10 is more comparable to the FFA10,000 than the K20. The price difference between a K20 and a FFA10k would be drastic and for your application might not be totally necessary.

Is the K20 a DSP as the armonia platform is very powerful and I personally won't be investing in any amps without DSP these days.
That said I still own various FFA amplifiers including a few 10k's and they are 5 years in to a harsh install and have not been sent to Dave once yet. We keep them clean and they just keep working 3-5 nights a week.

The FFA 10000 is only 3k at 4 ohm a side so you won't have any headroom. A K10 is 4k a side at 4 ohm. So a little bit of headroom.

As Jacethebass said both fantastic amps with great support.  I'd want DSP on the amp as well.. powersoft armonia+ is very powerful. A bit of a learning curve but they have excellent tutorials when you get a my armonia account.

I use both FFA and Powersoft for a few years in some really challenging environments and they have never gone wrong.

Okay, thanks for the information. In the old setup we played with a FFA 8004 for the mid-tops, u think that same model can run the mid-bass ?
In other topics I found people saying the FFA 8004/6004 wasn't the best option for kick/mid-bass cause it was designed for mid-tops

I've always tried to rack amps together that cool in the same direction. Ffa cool back to front, powersoft front to back. Don't know if other people think that's important to consider when deciding on what to build into a system rack.

yeah all got to cool in same direction. Learnt this the hard way with amps going into protect without even pushing the volume very much.

Thumbs Up Yes very important? I saved a potential nightmare when seeing my friend had mixed mc2 E90 in with some FFA.

I agree, the K10 & K20 sound the same to me from the times I have played with them. TBH not really a fan of their tonality but that all depends on what else you have the signal chain.

Best sounding amps for mid/high that I have used are the QSC CX range (also badged as DCA for cinema use), they sound absolutely sublime on everything I tried them on.

Yeah I agree about the totality but I can't think about a decent alternative, probably I gonna put an compressor or a preamp between the crossover exit and the amp.
Thanks for the suggestion for mid/high. At the end I decided to take the MC2 E475. Probably gonna switch to a mix of powersoft X and FFA in the future.
