Greetings!
Planning on building a custom valve bass amp.
They person who's building wants to go for GU80-600W or GK71-250. Bass amp has to be about 2000W.
I am a total newbie but need an expert opinion. Every post I will show to the person that is doing the amps and he'll respond.
Irie bless!

It was saying if you use JAN tubes [ Joint Army Navy] made for military use, you get high quality great sounding valves way much cheaper without paying high prices like the name brand ones like Mullard.

Still no answer if the GU80-600W or GK71-250 are good for bass amps people.

Yes but you use multiples of them. Even 300w total made up of of them KT88 valves would give amazingly powerfull bass even.

Jah Observer uses 600w valves for the bass, 15 of the KT88.

dont think thats 15 of em, theyre usually used in pairs for push pull. probably 6pairs, 2 ECC83 or similar preamp valves and a rectifier.

cant really make it out too well - but it looks as if the preamp valves are uncanned - must pick up a fair bit of noise.

LOUDER THAN LOUD
