Aye, swings & roundabouts, I guess - although I remember buying a load from one guy on the bay ages ago that were matched. They were a bit more expensive, but definitely legit. Saved me a lot of time & testing. ![]() I think that I still have a few left in the box. They even came with a nice set of micas. |

Thanks guys! Learning a lot here. So the reason the Markbass design is squirrelly is because it uses vertical FETs? Which could be directly replaced by lateral FETS, or not without changing the drive circuit?

lateral fets have a much lower vgs (they can turn hard-on just by testing them with a meter) so I think you'd need to redesign the circuit, let alone the thermal tracking
