Hi Guys been out of the Passive systems for a long time now

Looking after an install where they have QSC PLX2's Seem great amps and don't see many broken ones about so always a good sign for me. 

Whats the difference between them and the GX Range Please

Pretty much everything. The PLX2 contains trickledown tech from the touring grade PL series while the GX is designed from the get go to be "cost effective".

gx have a conventional toroidal power supply and a super compact, cost-reduced design. Not a fan of these, see alot broken. Nightmare to take apart as it's all hard-wired.
The PL/PLX are very similar with a reliable switching supply, most of the PL are usa made by QSC whereas the PLX are ouutsourced to Gold Peak.

You are correct about the GX3 & 5, however the GX7 has a switching supply, everything else you said is correct.

The company I used to do the service work for sold QSC, I also saw a lot of the 3s & 5s for repair, however the 7s seemed OK as I only ever had one in and that was for a broken pot… still a PITA to work on!!

Didn't even know they did a GX7! Just had a look at one - they look even more awful than the smaller ones.
