are these as good as evm12l's in a straight midbass horn (say 100-150hz to 800-1khz.)

n.b they will be for home use below altec 288's

They are better for vocals. They will put the 12L's to shame on vocals.

The specs on the EVM10 are reasonably close to those of the PAudio SN10MB that we have in our DR250a midbass horns, and they're fine from 100 to 3.5kHz, so I don't see why you couldn't use it in a straight horn to 100 Hz. Fs and Qts would be hinky in a direct radiator but not a horn.

Jim,

The P Audio SN 10MB is no way close to the EVM 10.

Looking at the QTS alone, the P Audio is 0.33, where as, the EVM is 0.17

And, lets not even talk about the no.%

I just modeled the EVM10 in Hornresp in the DR250a cabinet; SPL at 100 Hz comes in 100dB/watt, f3 at 110 Hz.. Sure, the low Qts is bad news in a direct radiator but horns love low Qts.
