Greetings! I am building 4 scoops with Void V18-1000. I want to build a double 15'' speaker box, two 12" speakers and put a "rack" with loads of tweeters in the top, to assemble all in one stack. What are the frequencies each one of these speakers should have? I've been looking at the PD drivers to have an idea. Here's a possibility: 15"- PD153ER (up to 4.5kHz) / 12"- PD912 (50Hz to 3.5KHz) / Is this ok or should the 12" have an higher frequency than the 15"? Also, for the tweeters should I go with 2 or 3 compression drivers or could I also go with 16 piezo speakers? Thanks |

Hi, Forget the Piezos, they sound like crap. I would probrably build 4 X12s, with the P Audio components, and crossover to the Mids at around 140hz, then to the compression drivers at around 2kz. Should go nicely with the scoops. You could also build some HD15s if you wanted a bit more punch. Jamie |

ER 15" up to 4.5khz, It must have a whizzer. Its good if the directivity matches at the crossover frequency,so that the energy content is balanced.(good designs have this) Use the x12 design like jamie says-that way youl get good results first time. You cant just slap 9speakers together and get good sound regards Mike.e

MT122 or MT102 would be a better option for mid/tops! And they would be long throw to go with the 1850 horns.

You could use the piezos as well but only for super high frequencies crossed over at 10khz to get rid of most of the harshness from piezos, and paint some damar on the little piezo cone, to get rid of even more harshness!
