Apparently the PD1850 driver does sound good in the scooper, & I'm sure I read that on here in the early days.

Maybe the scooper being used didn't have the triangle piece on bottom of the rear baffle!

Quite a few heavy sounds out there are/were using PD1850's in Larry (Mr dubz) scoops & shake up the place, so it really should work as they are both similar!

I have never read/heard anything good about 1850 in Scooper !!. Many guy's I know say scooper is rubbish because they have only heard 1850 in it, and nothing else.

Have heard it is loud, and plenty of kick, but not deep at all. In fact read about guy's looking for Subs to go under 1850 loaded scoopers!!

Have heard PD186 and PD1850 sound similiar in Scooper, but that PD186 in scooper is not premier league, like 1850 in some scoops.

However, we all know is completely different ball game with Supers and V18-1000, Bline 800, Fane XB  and maybe others.

Yeah, but was it the sub or the upper bass doing that?

Very unscientifically speaking, sub will hit you south of your waist {gonads, trousers, floorboards, foundations}, the deeper it hits, the less sound you hear, and the more the floor rattles.

Plenty of 40-50hz often bashes you in the Stomach. 40hz and below will rattle your letterbox downstairs from upstairs bedroomWink.

Upper bass (60hz+?) sounds very loud, hits you in the chest, rattles stuff seriously.

Levy it's about time we take a trip to listen to Fable sound System the next time they play out.
Quite a few bits of kit they use I think you'll 'njoy listening to! especially their mids & scoops.

So what you're saying is that Supers loaded with V18-1000's will out do Supers loaded with PD186's ? & is that in loudness, depth or just sounding better overall ?

Yes.

In scooper, PD186 will never be able hit SPL or throw as far as V18-1000, as V18-1000 has higher Xmax, more control, and is more suited to tight chambers.

However on paper, PD186 should sound warmer/looser at lower volume due to lower Fs, less control, e.g lower BL.

A Fane 18XB with same T/S parms, but 5" VC, 11mm Xmax and 1kw rating would probably be sweetest driver in scooper.

In that case lev i cant really comment as its a bit too open for interpritation, real life plots are the only way to go really but my point was that they can hit the low notes in tracks. A pd186 scooper on its own can be high passed at 40-45hz and pushed to its limit and in groups of four 35hz is easily achievable. But like i said im unable to pass comment really as i have no solid proof, id be very interested to see the plot my self to be honest (maybe i should look into geting some analysing software and equipment).okay maybe not as loud as some but a pd186 in a scooper would be far from dissapointing for anyone, it sounds nice, plays loud and goes low, also a very decently priced driver which can take a beating.

If your looking for the cream de la cream then maybe this isnt it but i like it!

Still respectable for diy scoop and < £180 driver.

But when you hear Premier league drivers in the right scoop, its a different world.

I'd never knock PD186's as I also heard them ripping up the place in both Shortmans & Ultimate Sounds Mini-Scoops & they sounded proper!
