Can anyone help with this one?

Just aquired a pre-loved Thames 2.
Was Thames 2 ever fitted with BSR P286 turntables?    I believed they all had Citronic CL300D's. Have I been done?

Great memories reading this forum!!

I've seen them with both, and the schematics for the Thames II shows two different pages depending on which turntable you've got. If it's the BSR's it just means it's the earlier model. If you do mange to get a pair of 300's then I've got the schematics and it shows what to change to use the 300's.

They fitted the BSR decks for a while
I believe when there was a shortage of the nice Cl300D`s
These are always coming up on Ebay  and as  Eddie says it is easy to fit them
The BSR`s are Ok but a bit basic and no strobe lights  to check you are at 45/33

Yep, no probs. You'll have to PM me your email address... but you'll need to do a couple more posts to activate the PM function!

Another possible issue are the CL300D's I've got hold of are from an Hawaii Mk4 without the tonearm rest contacts needed for the Thames 2 auto turntable start/stop function. Anyone got a work around for this?? maybe even some tonearm rests with contacts??

My mistake, looks like the 300's have a mounting bracket for a "micro-switch" fitted to the underside of the tonearm pivot point base. Mine are still missing though.

Anyone know the part number or ones I could adapt??
