I have never had to take an SL1200 apart but want to adapt a pair of mine to use the deck start switches on one of the Supernovas. Is this as easy as it should be or will there be an explosion of springs, washers and the need for a trained octopus to put it back together?

it's not difficult and just consists of adding one wire to a resistor on the board under the platter and connecting it to the mixer.
The mixer switches must be set to momentary action to do it like this (if it hasn't been done already) From memory (which has more than faded over the years) a single wire is connected to resister at test point 201 but don't take my word for gospel and check before you attempt it. PM service dept steve and he will help you with this mod.

Never criticise another man until you've walked a mile in his shoes. Once you have, call him what you like, you're a mile away and you've got his shoes!
