Hey guys,

I'm building some punishers at the moment and have a question on the cutsheet.

The , (comma) is noted in place of a decimal point I guess as Walt is from Europe, which in theory means some of the angles are measured to 1 decimal place. For example the Access Cover has internal angles noted as 124,8 and 89,6. How do people measure those?! My protractor only has solid degrees on it, never seen anything that breaks degrees up into 10 points!

I cut the panel 6 pieces today, with the 50,3 degree angle on one side using my new festool plunge saw (god bless it!). After cutting I put it against the punisher I have built and completed already and the angle was out. The sliding bevel came out and the protractor and I found the angle on the front of the one I have already to be 53 degrees, this left me wondering .... What is the , in the cutsheet!

Before I go ahead tomorrow and make lots more cuts I want to be sure about this. I also notice the mm measurements are sometimes to 2 decimal places, if the , does notate a decimal place! I have no idea how to cut something to 15.76mm apart from guesstimating!!

Hoping someone can clear this up so I put this wonderful weather to more use tomorrow :)

Build pics coming as soon as I finish the cutsheet pieces!

Cheers!

Ok, thanks.

I have drivers for 4 punishers, but i'm debating 8 in total so I could be in the market for some more drivers, how much do you charge for 2 and for 4 of the 8R versions ? ...

Hi Tom
I just started building two punishers , and i am using a combination of a 600mmsteel ruler, two 300mm, a 600 x 400 steel set squire, an adjustable 300mm set squire, a good Stanley measure tape
and a good Lufkin measure tape.
I roughly  over cut each piece by a couple of mm, then as i am doing a  final  trimming of the angles, before i lock my fence guide off i measure and try to average to the closest 1/2...sometimes even 1/4 mm, by eye.
some times even checking on a scrap piece of 7mm ply before committing.

I suppose measure 4 times cut once is not a bad rule to go byWink

I bought one of those 500 x 300mm adjustable protractors with a 0-180' in both directions ...spent $40 on it and was told it was the best out of the three types they had.But the gauge is out by about 3/4 degree, which puts the 300mmend out of whack by up to 3-5 mmAngry
So, yeah , I agree the angles are a bit awkward to work with...especially the vertical brace in the bottom of the horn flare...I think i will have to make a jig up  that cuts it into the shape that i am routing for the rebates for the side panels , as its supposed to follow the same curves!!...We will see!
