Want to run 4 BMS 4538 60w
What amplifiers are good to use for Compression drivers? I have a Yamaha P5000s and a Crest CPX 1500 But am tempted to change up to Lab Gruppen or Chevin? Any thoughts suggestions would be appreciated :-) And would Changing my Ultradrive to a Minidrive have any significant affect on quality? |

Hi.
I tend to use my Old QSC EX 4000 which offers 800 watts per channel @ 8 ohms. That is roughly 16 times over the rated power of the compression driver (50 watts) however, the sound quality supersedes any other amplifier offering less power. I would conduct a listen comparison to conclude which amplifier sounds best to you under the given circumstances. Best Regards, |

Yes try them out, both of those amps are overkill in this case but those Yamahas do sound very good on mids and highs and I expect the Crest would do fine too.
