Was just doing some reading into passive radiator theory, and wondering why it hasn't been used in PA bass cabs to get a bit more oomph at certain EQ frequencies; particularly might be useful in some way when combined with the EQ dip associated with scoop designs?

Passive radiators are expensive compared to a port. You can port horns and people do, so theoretically you could have a ported horn cabinet with a passive radiator instead. Never heard of a ported scoop but I don't think it would be surgical enough to smooth out that dip - if you can't do it with EQ why would a hardware based boost work?
