I have just finished knocking up as cheap as possible a little system.
4 x 15 125l cabs and RCF Event 12'+1 on top. Its run by a Dynacord 2400 (EVP3000) and Peavey 2600. Its great, hugely clear, brilliant attack, cabs at OK height and fits in small van or double run in big estate. 15's were chosen as it will do a bit of old school stuff, band, 60's and I prefer the sound of a 15 for this. The issue is sub on modern stuff. I mean real sub, 40 down to 30. I want think about a single centre stage cab so just do 50 down or so. Could just use 2 x 18 but it's a cheapskate hobby system so I'm thinking one driver and a bridged 8r 1200w or so amp. X1 letterbox (for aesthetics,) or similar??? Any thoughts? You definitely don't want to use a cheapskate driver in the X1.

No deffo not. But looking at it pragmatically a used V1000 or 1850 @ 160, that needs 1200 proper watts so a bridged PPX1200/C Audio or whatever for another 150 and job done |
