For 5000 people just buy a commercial line array mid high element (ok, buy a few of them) and then build your subs if you want to get the plywood out. You’re going past the realms of DIY stuff with that size gig.
(Firstly, I can only think of a couple of ‘DIY’ crews who would get their rig at that kind of event, and even the first 2 that spring to mind are either turning to commercial top boxes, or turning their hire business into manufacturing- after years of building their business up.
(RC1 and Elektrikal.)

Nobody wants DIY boxes at events like that. (Nobody = the people paying for it, or the H&S Manager).

Kf850 is £500 a box now and 3 a side will do what you want. Cost you far less than the new components to build some boxes and be half rider friendly.

I fully understand that. 5000 was a little outrageous.

3 per sideof KF850 will not do 5000 people.
Try 6 per side, and those are 100kg boxes that i will hot lift on top of subs for any amount of money.

All good questions... answer all of them and you'll get better and more useful answers from the guys here.

Id also ask
what's your total budget... inc amps?
Music genre?

Budget is not set yet.

As for music it will be commercial, rock, club tracks and country.

I need a full range system that can do crisp vocals and full sounding music

No live band stuff. All dj tracks.

The venue will be rodeo arenas.
