I was given an old ultracurve last year, It didn't work. I started a thread on here in the electro frying section, but didn't get much of a response. I replaced the internal battery, and had a peek inside, but the unit just keeps freezing and displaying weird gibberish. I did a lot of googling, but couldn't find any information on an easy cure.

It seems these units have a tendency of bricking themselves over time. And fixing them seems to be exceedingly difficult even for seasoned electronics technicians. I think someone mentioned failing timing oscillator chips or such......

Not worth the effort I suppose. I have kept my ultracurve in the hope of recycling the case for another project.
