I was takin for granted that the proline 3000 was a class AB amplifier...in reality even in the service manual they are not mentioning what kind of circuitry they have used for the output devices...anybody knows if the proline is a class AB amp?

I've got a Proline 2700 (nearly exactly the same as the 3000) open here at the moment and the transformer has multiple taps so it is probably a Class G/H.

Just read an FB post, where Thomann refused to fix one of these, whilst it was still under warranty.

Surely there are things you can do to an amp that will void the warranty. More details needed.

From my experience Thomann is very very accomodationg. Had two cases where I asked if they can directly send me a replacement because i needed them very urgend the next day. They did! I didn't even packaged the the faulty equipment (an amplifier and a active speaker) when the parcel guy ringed and gave me the new parts.

I suspect in the case of the FB post they were really sure it was a user error and an decided not to fix it to their cost. (Would absolutely do the same)

Or, if you fancy a bit of DIY you could buy a couple of their modules and put them in a box. They are simply the MXF series without the casing.

Great amplifiers.

yes agree ,lovely amps the bk models/amplifers wen housed :-)

It still doesn't offer any clues as to why they refused the claim though.

forget proline3000 for home use, that's just stupid, for that price you can get something more appropriate.

For example:
fanless, 180 w  per channel:

apart is a good company, I have a little active sub, can't fault it.

Old JBL 6290 are lovely, 300W RMS @ 8 ohms, 600 W RMS at 4 ohms, heavy and built like a tank, huge power supply, but also big and noisy fan.

I would personally love to try this:

Assuming an impedance of 4 ohms and above, I have used my Matrix GT 800FX to power a friend's pair of  4x12 bass bins. My friend is a bass player in a rock band, and he was impressed with how such a small ( 1u  4kg ) power amp was capable of doing so, at least in the rehearsal room. Some while ago, I used it on one channel  to power a Hartke 4x10 bass bin for another friend's rock band. On approx half power it was physically moving the bass bin across the floor to the full rock drumkit. Switching over to the lead guitarist , we connected it up to a Marshall 4x12 cab, only to be told by the drummer that he could not hear his drums( again on one channel at way less than full power ). It has a very clean tone, whatever it is powering and the fans are small , though noticeable on quiet music. It may not be what you are after, but I thought it might be of interest. Smile
Protect your hearing, and feel the music.

Sounds like they refused the repair because it was filthy.
