Since the demise of SAE amps.

Which of the cheaper Chinese brands and amps are people using on sub.

What has taken the place of the pxm1450.

Save up your cash, for a used Powersoft K20 DSP.

So many of these seasonal "so good" Chinese amps, have come, blown up, and gone.

k20 would be a waste as you can’t guarantee a good supply. So would have to be something that performs well enough on 13 amps and can be spoilt once in n a while on better.

K20 drives 4x Subs just fine on 13A.

New Technology, and shed load of capacitive storage.. Wink

absolutely - a really nice feature on the K20 is the ability to set the maximum current draw on the amplifier - anywhere between 15 and 32A RMS. 15A RMS will be fine on a 13A fuse ( unless you are just playing 50Hz sine waves for 4 hours). This leaves you able to forget "how hard" you are pushing the plug top fuse.

I really don't get this whole thing about not being able to use amps like these on smaller power supplies, proper amps like these will have better PFC and higher efficiency giving better results than anything from China, certainly in reliability and long term serviceability terms.

People are constantly spending too big a proportion of their budget on speakers, rarely powering them properly. Its a bit like buying a F1 car but only being able to afford a Nissan Micra engine to put in it!..,.
