hi guys I am currently using void v18 loaded X1’s and am thinking about trying the v18 in the RCF box mainly because they are smaller boxes so easier to move and store.
Would this be considered a down grade or can I expect to get good results? If I can achieve similar sound to the X1’s in a smaller box I’d be happy. Would this design throw further than the x1’s?

1018 has more radiating area, usually this means better "throw" even tho its not big enough to make it directional at bass frequencies. Not sure but so many has said that typical bandpass is only good for indoors, bad for outdoors. I just dont know why, but it has to do something with the radiating area of the enclosure/speaker combination.
1018 will be louder anyway, but X1 will go lower. Louder = more throw. |

Hi, have you made the switch from X1 to ESW1018 ? Any thoughts, what are you missing from the X1, what have you gained and how happy are you with the switch?
I like best the Bandpass subs, but they are rather large and heavy for some events. Thanks!
