Hi All,
I've got a pair of Fane Studio 18's which have been reconed by RMJ. Sounding sweet as f$$$ in some scoops. I'm just wondering where I should set the limiters. It says rated for 400w on each one but I'm struggling to find other specs. What can I let them have? Cheers in advance!

Hi. When I used to use that driver, I would give it anywhere from 600 – 800 watts continuous with no issues whatsoever. FANE (like most manufactures in the 1980’s) were very conservative with their ratings compared what is marketed today. Your biggest issue would be having enough room for the cone to move so the cone does not bang against the grill. If your amplifier offers more than 800 watts continuous at 8 ohms, set the limit to 800 watts. Best Regards, |
