The frame definately looks obertonish.

You may want to ask who makes Oberton drivers. Electro-voice has made that desogn for nearly 40 years.

Than you everyone for clearing that up. Seems I now have a back up driver handy, a pleasing outcome!

The frame of that driver is an Electro-voice design. Prior to the EVX from the 1980's, the frame stems from the EVM Series from the 1970's. So that frame has been with Electro-voice for nearly 50 years. Prior to the EVM Series the frame differed when Electro-voice focused on the home Hi-Fi market (roughly 1950 - 1960).  Such drivers as the Wolverine, Michigan,  and SP Series offered different frames however, we are talking a time when Alnico Magnets were standard and Ceramic Magnets were new and innovative. Electro-voice came about in 1930

Best Regards,

I am just saying that Oberton (and the company before that) is doing the same basked design for over 30 years for sure. It was on the other side of the iron curtain, so you wouldn't know. But Eastern Europe had several very good loudspeaker manufacturer since the 60s.
