Hello,
I just stumbled on these. Does anybody has some info about them? I noticed similarities in concept with big orange boyz. PDF: http://www.renkusheinz-sound.ru/pdf_datasheets/CE3TMKA_data.PDF Description: http://www.renkusheinz-sound.ru/loudspeakers/series/Legacy_Loudspeakers/ce_touring/ce_touring.html Thoughts?

Yeah it’s trying to fix the same issue but in a different way. Some of the Renkus sounds great though and I had loads of fun chatting to their gang about the hows and whys in the past couple years. The Tannoy VQ is almost a straight clone though |

..straight clone of which design..? (imo VQ is just a plain v baffle 212 with a large enough horn + capable hf to be cut low enough to meet the 212s within suitable passband to match dispersion more or less?) |

STX series, it came first and visually is identical including the 12” low section. Almost the same box dimensions and nominal dispersion options too. The horn profile is very similar but the Tannoy uses a BMS coaxial instead of the coentrant. I prefer the sound of the RH but the Tannoy goes louder. Neither seem to have sold much this side of the pond mind, and Tannoy is now Music Tribe of course. |

haha, yeah, just a quick google search.. my bad.. curious to see the lense RH used to combine the Hfs.. co-entry seems not to enter within 1/4 wavelength though at xover, funnily its a concept i am actually looking at atm to possibly create a diy fixed angle line-array cab.. :) |

No. Talking about the ‘proper’ co-entrant horn as discussed in the recent posts which is the one used in STX |
