Can anyone help me find a small ported reflex type sub plans for the PD186 V1? I am interested in using these for small to medium venues not more than 250 peeps indoor for playback DJ stuff. I already have tops 12/6/1" but cutoff is 60 hz I need 35 or 40 Hz to 70 Hz to cover the lower frequencies. I will need 2 subs built and since these are heavy woofers I need a smaller compact sub 24" cube. Will post pics on the build.
Thanks everyone!

Download a copy of WinISD and have a go. Put the results up and you'll get help.

Old BC Sub 18 Plan. First pair of 18" Subs I had, loaded with PD186, unmodified, scandalous sub notes. CVA 18" Design, with PD1850s, Are much louder, cover more people, not as smooth though.

Thanks guys for the reply apparently I read on another forum the PD 186 V1 has a high Qts compared from original published catalog numbers it has a Qts of .50 so horn cannot be used. i was going to sell these on eBay since these are brand new never mounted from 2009 shipped from a friend in UK. So I have 2 PD 186 I was going to use in F1 Infra Bass cab plans on the net. But I need more compact bass cab since i only have 2 of these for a smaller cab size maybe ported or reflex 22' x 22" x 22" for mobile DJ work and a 2 way top. Thanks

No one's suggested you build a horn... of four suggestions 3 are bass reflex and the fourth suggests you learn winISD which isn't that hard and will let you build the box for your needs.

PD186 V1 does not have qts of 0.50, or it would not work in some of the Scoops and Horns that it does.
People here have been using PD186 V1 for years, try taking some tried and tested advice. Edited by levyte357- - 04 October 2018 at 10:48am |
