Anyone have plans for a vented 2x18 direct radiating subwoofer enclosure that's 200 liters tuned to 32hz?

Why do you need a plan for that. Calculate it.

Helpfull yeah. This was beaten to death ehre for who knows how many times. People should use the search function before asking the same question again and again.

hi
if it is for your 18 tbw100 from the other thread, beware that the 200 liters sim from b&c was for one woofer, not two. if you want to make it a double you need to double also volume and ports. from that same thread somebody suggested the 18sound double 18 enclosure, you will find plans on their site, there is also a wonderfull build on this forum from few weeks ago with added bracing you should copy. you probably will not find a better ready made plan. tuning should be around the same, maybe a couple hertz lower . |

Unlikely as 200l is pretty small for a 2x18 - if you're wanting to stretch them down low it's not unusual to see 200l per driver. The 18Sound design for example works out at around 365l net of the drivers, ports etc. A couple of things you'll need to be aware of when reducing box size - first, the response curve will drop down around tuning, meaning you need more EQ to boost it back up to flat and second, the length of port you need to achieve a given tuning frequency gets ever longer, the smaller the box is. It can easily get to the point where the port has to be bent round a corner to even fit inside the box, complicating the design and build. HTH, David.

This is what happens in forums, that don't have FAQ section, or newbies can post straight away.

Yes, 200l is very small for a 218. It's not crazy though, for the right woofer this would be something like a BP6 alignment. I've looked at similar designs myself and it does look like a bit of a trick to get right (especially so with high power woofers) as you run out of front space so you have to make it shallow but then the port needs to be long so the cab ends up too complex to be justified. Raising the tuning improved things but then it wouldn't do what I wanted in terms of low frequencies.

Try the B&C sub18 enclosure. https://www.toutlehautparleur.com/media/catalog/product/datasheet/bc/K-SUB18.pdf

Marjan is right, there's loads of stuff on this forum on this subject so a search should yield not just plans but opinions on how each one sounds. Might take a few hours reading though.
For off the shelf plans: the b&c one above, Google "fane 200l plan" Look at the 18 sound website for a huge array of enclosures including 18 inch subs. Why not build half their double?! If you're willing to learn a fairly easy bit of software you'll soon understand what the changes in volume and port length and size do to the tuning of the box and the output. This is WinISD as mentioned above. It's then not too hard to design your own. If you just want to build and don't care just build the b&c plan
