    Posted: 01 October 2019 at 9:31am
Hello,

I recently bought a Beyma 15SW1300ND 15" High Output Driver

Could you please recommend me a type of bass bin that would suit the driver?

Furthermore, is there any way you could spare a minute to explain how these parameters influence the recommended bass bin:
Coil Inductance (Le)3.45 mH
Mechanical Q (Qms)14.7
Electrical Factor (Qes).37
Total Q (Qts).36
Comp. Equivalent Vol. (Vas)3.16 ft3 / 89.6 Liters

as far as I know the above parameters are the key ones to look out for when choosing your suitable bass bin for any woofer. If it is very complicated and therefore too long to explain, could you please share a link to a website which explains it all and I will study it one day?

Attaching SPECIFICATIONS for the Beyma 15" Driver, to which I am seeking a bass bin recommendation.

If you go to the Beyma website and look under the resources section you will find loads of plans and cut sheets for Beyma drivers---Just pick one that is suitable and uses a driver that has close specs to the one that you have---Simple.

The 15SW1300 is a nice driver

What sort of cabinet are you looking for? - It can do anything from smallish and punch (55Hz+) or tuned quite low (30Hz), but will need a bigger box.

How much power do you have?
Any experience in woodworking? Got the tools?
What will you be using this cabinet with?

Thank you for your replies.

Which specs am I looking at?

Chris:
What sort of cabinet are you looking for?

I wanted to choose from the recommended enclosures. I think the lowest frequencies 30 Hz - 60 Hz should be played from a 18" or even 21 / 24" woofers for maximum impact and to be able to go as low as possible, meaning I am better off turning the Beyma into a 15" kick bin (since as far as I know the best kicks are reproduced from smaller woofers - 18" or even better - 15"). Please correct me if I am wrong. I got this information by doing my own thorough research in forums.

How much power do you have?

Unlimited. Power should not be a restriction within your list of recommendations.

The Beyma is 1300W AES @ 8R.
I recently bought a Matrix XT10000MF (5 kW per channel @ 4R).
Furthermore, I will be investing a lot of money in the next few years since I am really passionate about music, sound systems, hosting events etc.

Any experience in woodworking? Got the tools?

My friends have some experience but we are all youngsters - 20-25 yrs olds so it is also an option to look out for the bass bins to go on sale, as opposed to building our own. It is much preferable to build our own though so please list a few enclosures and we will pick one Thumbs Up. On that note, do you know what kind of wiring I need to purchase for the inside of the bass bin? Do I just need the wood, the driver and 2 SpeakOn terminals or is there anything else that I need?

Overall, I am more interested in the best recommendations in general not the best recommendations for us personally.

What will you be using this cabinet with?

I am intending to buy 2 bandpass 18" subs for frequencies 30 Hz - 70/80 Hz (for example EAW SB528) and place 15" kick bins on top. I will have Void B12 cabinets for mid/tops until I buy even better ones such as ASS MX350 or similar ones. (Rig No.1)

I also have 3 x Void Waveform S 12" subs that go down to 34 Hz (-3 dB) but I either need to sell them or buy at least 1 more so that I can have a second rig where I have 2 subs per side.

What do you think?

Thank you for your replies, guys. Much appreciated!!!
