It's just my opinion. Would much rather a sub do bass frequencies than anything over 800-1000hz

I think there's a bit of confusion going on here. To most people, a sub doesn't get over 100-ish Hz. You've referred to the bottom driver in a 2-way and in your idea for a 3 way 2 or 3 times as a sub, but that's not what it is. Better to think of it as a bass-mid (or low-mid in the case of the 3 way). There are plenty decent 12" that do OK up to the 1.2kHz-ish range, as stated elsewhere in the thread. If you really want to push for a genuine 130dB box, and maximise sound quality as well, then I'd vote for the Peter Morris designs as as well. No, they're not tiny, but they were designed to be as loud as possible while still being pole mountable.

Yeah youre right and I understand it's more of a mid bass box rather than a sub.
Will check out the Peter morris designs and see what I can come up with.
