I recently acquired 4 Eminence sample drivers and want to build some monitors with them for a small acoustic venue. They are basically 3010LF frames with a LAB style cone/dust cap and rubber surround. They are 16 ohm and and have a huge dip around 900hz so mating them with a standard 1" comp drivers wont work and this is a budget build (donating, venue is a non-profit) so costly 1.4" or bigger are out of the question. I am considering a vertical array or four 4 ohm Eminence Alpha 3's (wired in series to keep 16 ohms) to sit beside the 10 crossed over around 500hz. Any idea how this might work as a floor monitor? The 10" looks good in the QB3, .6 cu ft tuned to 50hz.

dispersion in the vertical may become an issue with 4 stacked 3" drivers, being too narrow to work as a musician moves up and down stage - but kind of depends on the user - if static then it may work just fine.
